Message From Our President

Looking back on 2020.

As the year began, we could not have imagined the devastating impact a new pandemic was about to inflict, not only on sport but everyone’s life worldwide.

Despite the lack of normal cricket, we managed to play a few games, kept the arms turning over and heard the special sound of leather on willow- however brief. This was only possible thanks to the tremendous effort from our dedicated committee and friends of the club who helped to keep us and visiting teams compliant and Covid safe.

Looking ahead to 2021. – 100 years at Keats Lane!

I am hoping, along with most of us, that the rollout of the vaccination in the coming months, will see the return of a more familiar game of cricket at Keats Lane during the summer of 2021 and onwards.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their continued support during the difficult season last year and look forward to a more productive one in 2021.

The new website is a major achievement and I think the best in our League, a lot of work has been carried out behind the scenes to develop it and I would like to thank Harry and Mick for all their hard work.

I would also like to welcome Pete Shaw to the new role of Director of Cricket. Already plans are in place to develop our fledgling academy and our senior teams. Thanks also, to the tremendous efforts of Kyle, Bob & Ian and all helpers and parents who stepped in whenever needed during a difficult year.

We developed a great relationship with Tom Flowers during the last season and this will continue to be strengthened in 2021, as they have plans to include our club in their summer coaching scheme.

The academy is the future of our great club and it looks to me to be in good hands.

As you are aware, development plans for our new facilities are ongoing and we intend to see this through to fruition in 2021

Finally, a big thank you to all the players, Committee and helpers for keeping the faith during 2020 and here’s looking to a brighter future in 2021.

Stay Safe
