Name: Kyle Chamberlain
Role: Academy Coordinator
Years at ESTCC: Joined in the 1999 season
I am from Huncote and married with one daughter.
I am a committed clubman and first team player, and very excited to lead the Academy at such an exciting time. I look forward to working with our young players over the next few years and developing them into the future senior players of our club.
My time at Earl Shilton Town Cricket Club
I joined the club in 1999 at 10 and started training with the older juniors, before playing at 11 in the under 13 team. Moving up through the junior age groups at the club, I also represented the County team between 14 and 19 age groups. I was part of the team that won the junior County Cup. Playing in the Second team at 14 and the First team 15 where I still play today, I also started running the junior section three years ago following completion of my Coaching badge. I was recently appointed Commercial Manager for the club where I will continue my work with the club sponsors.
Looking ahead to 2021 and beyond
Reflecting on the 2020 season and the renaming of the junior section as the ESTCC Academy, I believe we successfully achieved our goal of ensuring that our juniors continued to play the game throughout the pandemic.
I would like to thank everyone involved in making this possible, from the committee members and ground staff, to the children’s parents.
Looking forward to the 2021 season, we hope that we can continue cricket as normal by spring, when the outdoor season starts. We already have exciting plans for the juniors, such as additional training equipment, potential outdoor netting facilities and our first ever confirmed summer camp with Tom Flowers Cricket Coaching.
Another exciting step forward is the appointment of Pete Shaw (Former captain, junior coach and current Director of the club) as ‘Director of Cricket’. Pete was a huge part of the successful junior and senior teams from 1994-2001 and had a huge impact on my career as a club and county cricketer. I also hope that the social side of the club can return to normal at some point next year, as we truly believe in ourselves as being a family friendly club.
Earl Shilton Town CC Academy Strategic Plan 2021-2025
1. Earl Shilton Town Cricket Club will be the leaders in coach development
2. Earl Shilton Town Cricket Club’s aim is to reach the top two teams consistently in both formats over the next 5 seasons.
3. Club coaches will develop and foster an off-field sense of camaraderie, club, and team spirit.
4. Club coaches will increase the participation, through highly skilled coaching and increasing membership amongst all levels of cricket.
5. Earl Shilton Town Cricket Club will develop coaches suitable for Junior LCCC formats, LCCC senior sides and International cricket coaching roles.
Thanks again for all your support and I hope to see all the kids playing cricket again soon!
